Favad understands the importance of providing reasonably priced legal services to his clients in a candid and straight-forward manner. Favad represents banks, companies, real estate investors, and entrepreneurs in a variety of industries when they are involved in litigation regarding landlord-tenant disputes, evictions, business divorce and partnership disputes, contract disputes, business fraud, business insurance coverage matters, and creditors’ rights litigation such as representation in foreclosures, bankruptcy proceedings, and delinquency cases. Favad also represents clients in business and real estate transactions, including negotiating and drafting contracts, reviewing title documents, resolving title and other pre-closing problems, and reviewing and negotiating lender documents.
Favad is also a fee attorney with Chicago Title and has handled over 100 commercial and business transactions. He has handled over 75 litigation matters primarily in Texas state and federal court, but also has appeared before the Texas Fifth Circuit of Appeals in Dallas, Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings in Austin, and the Northern and Eastern District of Texas U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
Prior to starting his practice, Favad worked for one of the largest 200 law firms in the country at that time as well as a Texas regional firm in the litigation and bankruptcy sections. Favad received his law degree from Baylor Law School where he served as an associate editor on the Baylor Law Review. While in law school, Favad clerked for Federal Judge Walter S. Smith, Jr., and the prestigious Solicitor General’s section within the Texas Attorney General’s office. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate studies, and was involved in several student organizations.
Tim Forgerson has nearly forty years of experience representing banks, creditors, and lending institutions in all aspects including preparation of loan documents, advising banks about complex issues transactions involving real estate collateral. He is also an experienced real estate and transactional attorney having been involved in thousands of commercial transactions during various periods of economic boom and bust representing lenders, buyers, and sellers. Tim has experience with foreclosures, collections, and litigation involving underperforming loans. He is very familiar with title insurance, title insurance strategies, and curing title defects as a long time fee attorney with Chicago Title
Karen Song is a seasoned commercial escrow officer with Chicago Title. She has over 10 years of experience handling all sorts of real estate and business transactions, providing title insurance, and working through various complex title related issues that often occur in transactions. Karen specializes in providing title insurance in real estate transactions involving refinancing and complying with particular lender requirements. Karen posseses the ability to work well with people as this is a customer driven industry. Her role includes the responsibilities of preparing settlement statements, preparing closing documents, understanding and complying with escrow instructions, conducting closings and handling funds placed through the Company’s escrow account.
Amanda Schwartz is a trial attorney with over fifteen years of experience in all aspects of litigation. Amanda specializes in business and commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction disputes, real estate development disputes, general commercial liability matters, and personal injury and premises defect cases. Amanda attended the University of North Carolina and SMU Dedman School of Law.
